Director of Marketing and PR, North America

Scotch & Soda is seeking a passionate marketing/PR professional to develop and execute all PR and Marketing brand activities in North America. The position will be responsible to build brand awareness via editorial placements, celebrity/influencer partnerships and storytelling in the consumer and business space, organize events and plan strategies to drive traffic to all distribution channels including retail locations, outlets and wholesale.

Job responsibilities:

    Brand Marketing

    • Develop a compelling, regional marketing strategy for directly owned stores/outlets, aligned to the global brand strategy based on business trends, organizational priorities, and key regional moments
    • Coordinate with CRM/ECOM, Store Operations, Visual Merchandising, and Buying/Planning teams to launch cross functional promotions and ensure cohesive campaign messaging across all marketing vehicles
    • Collaborate with cross functional departments to develop timely go-to-market strategies for key capsules, launches and collections
    • Liaise with Store Operations and Visual Merchandising to strategize and execute priority messaging in store based on global marketing calendar
    • Lead marketing efforts for new store openings
    • Develop and execute in-store band activations across 50+ retail locations
    • Manage local marketing efforts, including collaboration with mall marketing partners, local businesses, and various partnerships
    • Collaborate with Creative Services team to brief projects and review/sign off creative assets
    • Work closely with global Marketing, social media, and PR teams
    • Develop and influence the global marketing team through informative presentations/suggestions to perfect the implementation of channel activation plans, and ensure effective market impact to support the overall business growth in North America
    • Manage annual budgets across all channels including wholesale and retail brand marketing
    • Experience reporting on KPIs and proactively creating strategies to improve performance

    Public Relations

    • Collaborate with HQ PR team in Amsterdam in developing a cohesive PR strategy for the North American market
    • Responsible for all ambassador, television, and movie product placements
    • Facilitate all sample requests and pulls of product
    • Ensure brand storytelling is told consistently through all points of sale (collateral, events, internal/external communications)
    • Oversee an external PR agency
    • Collaborate with the PR agency and global PR director to plan and execute PR campaigns and release distribution
    • Create and manage editorial calendar for North America
    • Work with LA-based VIP coordinator for all celebrity placements
    • Maintain and build direct relationships with key press contacts, opinion makers and industry figures
    • Bi-annual press presentations in LA and NYC
    • Manage influencer, seeding and PR annual budget
    • Work closely with the Social Media team to provide content to attract the North American market
    • Expand partnerships with stylist, celebrity, and influencer relations to increase the company’s brand reach and awareness
    • Track campaign success and media coverage through weekly/monthly reporting
    • Manage all Marketing and PR yearly budgets while scaling programs to save on costs

    • Established connections with media outlets, influential contacts, and stylists
    • History of agency and budget management
    • Desire to participate in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
    • Determination to succeed in a high pressure environment
    • Capable of adapting to a quickly changing priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work well under pressure and be able to prioritize
    • Able to recognize success as well as failure and take responsibility for results
    • Professional verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to voice opinions and inspire a global team
    • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign experience a large plus
    • Degree with 5+ years’ experience in marketing, communications or similar field
