Production Coordinator - Silvia

Originally from Italy, Silvia has been at Scotch & Soda for three years. Her job is to ensure that the designs from the design department are produced according to Scotch & Soda’s quality standards. Her day-to-day work involves dealing with measurements, solving problems with fabrics or factories, undertaking quality checks, and building and strengthening supplier relationships.

“It’s great to be part of such a large team – we have 17 people working in production. We travel often to meet our suppliers and a lot of the job is about maintaining those relationships. After six months of planning, production, fittings, and checking the quality of washes and fabric combinations, there’s no better feeling than seeing a finished product. Communicating with suppliers from around the world is not always straightforward, so colleagues in our offices in Hong Kong, India and Italy help us out a lot by regularly visiting the factories on our behalf. I’m excited to learn more about new sustainable materials and processes developing within the industry. It’s going to be important in the coming years.”
